Painting of Tomatoes

This afternoon I painted some tomatoes. Still life, still on my windowsill. My favourite part is the berries on the bush outside the window.

River of Life

The clouds are dancing in the animated sky because they are excited about the river of Life and the creative exploits that will result from it doing what it does. Namely flowing.

Random Blathering About Stew and my Comic Strip

I posted this comic on twitter and called it 'Female emotions, all packed together like Hamilton Goulash.' This is why it's fun being female, I'm just saying. Us girls get to feel everything all at once - the good the bad and the ugly. So anyway, what does this have to do with goulash? When I was growing up, my dad would sometimes make us Hamilton Goulash. It's like a stew, but he would put very creative ingredients into it and he never made it the same way twice. If we were lucky, it would be absolutely delicious and I would have 3 or 4 helpings. If we weren't, we would try to finish our first bite. The good thing was, if my dad couldn't even eat it, then we were off the hook too. But it is what it is. And we are what we are.

Grounded - Illustration Friday

This is a painting I did for my church. As our pastor was speaking about life's difficulties, and how we often cry out to God asking why we are going through all these troubles...
... I painted black between all the branches, instead of lush green leaves. Isn't this what life feels like sometimes?
However, when God gives us understanding, or a revelation, of what He is really doing in our life, things start to make sense. After the black was painted, we turned the painting right side up.
God has it all figured out, from beginning to end. He's making us beautiful. We have a choice in how we will respond to His handiwork in our lives. We can get angry and bitter and curse Him or we can thank Him, trust Him and wait and see. He knows the plans he has for you. Do you? They are to give you hope and a future.
